LTC Offering CNA Instructor Course
Lincoln Trail College is offering a CNA Instructor Course for RNs that includes the Alzheimer’s Disease and approved evaluator components. The program will be online only and there is no face-to-face requirement. The Train the Trainer Program starts September 14 and runs through October 23. The cost is $599 and is conducted in compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health regulations. The class is designed for nurses who are eager to teach in a Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program and want to learn how to teach in a classroom and in the clinical setting.

Parking Restrictions Due To Paving And Striping
Parking lots at Lincoln Trail College will be sealed and striped beginning Monday, August 31. The work will impact faculty, staff, and students alike. Additional parking will be available on North Campus. Please do not park on the grass. Monday, August 31 – Half of the Main Parking Lot will be closed. It will reopen September 2 or September 3, weather permitting. Monday, August 31 – The Faculty/Staff parking lot will be closed. It will reopen September 2 or September 3, weather permitting.

LTC Offering Chalk Painting Classes
Lincoln Trail College will offer a trio of Chalk Couture classes this fall.  The first class is September 22 and will serve as an introduction to Chalk Couture.(Note: The class on Sept. 22 has been canceled) The second class is October 5 and will focus on pumpkin projects and students can make a farmhouse sign in the final class on Oct. 19. Each class runs from 6:30-8:30 at LTC. The cost of each class is $30, and participants can sign up for each class individually. Students can register by calling 618-544-8657.

LTC Offering Cookie and Cupcake Decorating Class
Lincoln Trail College will give kids a chance to learn how to decorate cookies and cupcakes in an upcoming class. Decorating Cookies and Cupcakes for Kids begins September 9 and meets Wednesday nights from 6-7:30 through September 30. Kids will learn how to create fancy cookies and fabulous cupcakes during the class, which will be held at the Robinson Community Center.

LTC Offering Babysitter Training Class September 26
Area students ages 11-15 that are interested in babysitting can take a class at Lincoln Trail College on September 26 that will prepare them to babysit. The Babysitter Training Class will feature curriculum from the American Academy of Pediatrics’ BLAST! Program. The exciting and interactive program provides extensive training in pediatric first aid, household safety, and the fundamentals of childcare.

LTC Offering Spanish for Kids Class
Children can benefit from learning a language at an early age and Lincoln Trail College will give kids that opportunity this Fall. LTC is holding a Spanish for Kids class on Thursdays from September 24 through October 15 from 6-7 p.m. Spanish for Kids is designed for children and parents to experience together. The class will teach Spanish through interactive games, activities, and short songs. There will also be resources available to continue learning outside of class. Families that want to register for Spanish for Kids can call LTC at 618-544-8657.

LTC Offering Advanced Painting Class
People that want to improve their painting techniques can take Advanced Painting at Lincoln Trail College. The class will be held on Tuesday nights September 8 through October 13 from 6:30-9 p.m. Advanced Painting features a survey of painting techniques in all media with particular demonstrations of landscape in watercolor and acrylic and portrait in acrylic and oils. The class is appropriate for students with past painting experience. Supplies are included in the cost of the class. Lincoln Trail College Adds New Microcertificate Options
Lincoln Trail College is offering two new certificate options this fall that can be completed in as little as one semester. The microcertficates are in Special Events Management and Public Service Management and students will be able to take all of the courses online.
