IECC Receives $719,381 Grant to Expand Access to Education Through Synchronous Lecture Halls
Illinois Eastern Community Colleges (IECC) is pleased to announce the receipt of a $719,381 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture, aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for students across its multi-college system. The grant will fund the creation of 12 state-of-the-art Synchronous Lecture Halls, designed to connect students to faculty members and educational programs at different geographic locations.

OCC Summer 2023 LPN Graduates Achieve 100-Percent Pass Rate
Olney Central College’s Summer 2023 LPN graduates achieved a perfect 100-percent pass rate on the NCLEX examination. “The pass rate for 2023 LPNs at Olney Central College is reflective of the hard work and dedication of our nursing faculty and students,” said IECC Dean of Health Professions Dr. Alani Frederick. “With an emphasis on clinical judgment and the application of nursing knowledge, the faculty at Olney Central are preparing students to work in a modern and complex healthcare environment.”

Cast Named for Lincoln Trail College's Production of God of Carnage
Lincoln Trail College Theater Director Taylor Dahlberg has named the cast for The Arts at Lincoln Trail College’s production of God of Carnage. The part of Alan Raleigh will be played by Lincoln “Jake” Wright while Annette Raleigh will be played by Grae Drake. Brennan Tracy plays the part of Michael Novak and Rachel Carter plays Veronica Novak.

Olney Central College invites high school seniors to learn more about OCC’s academic programs and college life during the annual Blue Preview on September 29. “This is a great opportunity for high school seniors to talk with faculty and current students one on one about their experience at OCC and everything our college has to offer,” said College Admission Representative Curtis Miller.

Registration Form Olney Central College Men’s Basketball will host its annual Blue Knight Golf Classic on Saturday, October 14 at the Richland Country Club in Olney. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. with tee-off set for 1 p.m.

OCC to Host Money Management Lunch & Learn on September 25
Learn life-changing money management strategies with financial expert Dr. Linda Simpson during a lunch and learn event on Sept. 25 at Olney Central College. Simpson’s presentation Creating a New Money Mindset promotes financial goal setting, mindful and emotional spending and teaches individuals how to assess their own current financial situation. The goal is to assist individuals in understanding the reasons behind their money management behaviors and to help them build a solid, sustainable financial plan.

Dahlberg Named Lincoln Trail College Theater Director
Lincoln Trail College has named Taylor Dahlberg its new Theater Director. In this role, Dahlberg will be responsible for directing LTC productions, facilitating Summer Children’s Theatre, managing the Zwermann Performing Arts Center, and occasionally teaching theater classes.

Dedication Ceremony Planned for Terry L. Bruce West Richland Center
The West Richland Center will be formally renamed and dedicated in honor of former Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Chief Executive Officer Terry Bruce during a ceremony on September 29 at 10:30 a.m.   Bruce served as IECC’s CEO for 23 years, retiring in 2019. The Board of Trustees issued a proclamation in June dedicating the West Richland Center to honor Bruce’s legacy. “I was very surprised,” said Bruce. “It was not something I had ever thought about, but I’m very honored.”
