Auditions Announced for WVC's Spring Musical

Auditions for the Wabash Valley College-Wabash Valley Arts Council Spring Musical, “COUNTRY IS:  The Music of Main Street,” will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 22 & 23, 2019 in the Brubeck Theatre.  Performance dates are 7:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday, March 15 & 16 & 1:30 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2019.  Sue Schriber will serve as Guest Director.

In this down-home, good-time concert celebrating traditional themes, the audience will take a journey through country music from the timeless classics of Tammy Wynette and Patsy Cline to the anthems of Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks, featuring the work of George Strait, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, John  Denver, Willie Nelson, and more.  Some of the favorites included in the program will be I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry, Don’t Rock the Juke Box, Nine to Five, Crazy, On The Road Again, I’ve Been Everywhere, Amarillo By Morning, Boot Scootin Boogie, Stand By Your Man, Thank God I’m A Country Boy, Friends In Low Places,  Sixteen Tons, and others. 

General:  Singer/Performer/Actors with exceptional pop/stage singing voices, i.e., not legit though it is not necessary to have a country sound.  Charisma and the ability to communicate with an audience in a concert-style setting are key.  Comic ability helps.   Must move well.  Performers of all ethnic backgrounds are encouraged.  Specific Roles:  Flexible.  Ages may vary as well.  Setting:  A Concert House.
