MSHA Electrical Retraining for MSHA Qualified Mine Electricians
2016 State of Illinois Class/Test dates
- To receive your Illinois Electrical Card, you must have a current 2016 MSHA Federal Electrical card
- an Illinois application and 50.00 to IDNR
- plus 50.00 to IECC for the required 8hrs of Illinois Electrical Safety with a test at the end of the class.

MSHA FEDERAL ELECTRICAL CARD RENEWAL
Illinois Eastern Community Colleges’ Workforce Education program has scheduled MSHA-approved electrical retraining classes for the following Saturdays at locations throughout Illinois’ mining regions. All currently qualified electricians are required to complete this training annually, before the end of the year, to keep their QUALIFICATIONS.
If you are an Illinois resident or if you work full-time in Illinois, the cost is: $30.00
If you are not an Illinois resident and do not work full-time in Illinois, the cost is: $114.00. If you are over the age of 60 the tuition will be waived.
Please bring a check or money order payable to “ILLINOIS EASTERN COMMUNITY COLLEGES”
NOTE: If paying with cash, be certain to bring the exact amount. Payment will be collected at the start of each class.
Telephone pre-registration is required. Admission will be on a first come/first serve basis. Class size is limited to thirty (30) by MSHA training plans. To reserve your slot, call the location where you wish to attend and give your name, telephone number, and the date(s) you prefer. Actual registration will be at the start of each session.
All classes begin at 8:00 a.m. with a limited 30 minutes for lunch (You may want to bring lunch and a Thermos; check for the availability of food and coffee when pre-registering).

IF LOST, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET BACK.
- ATTEND ELECTRICAL RETRAINING THIS FALL.

MSHA has eliminated all Social Security Numbers. To get your card, you must have an MSHA Miner Individual Identification Number or MIIN. Please bring it with you to avoid delays.
