The Internship I and Internship II part of the Social Services Specialist Program is essentially employment experience. Each student is provided an opportunity to go out into the community and help provide services to persons in need through many of the numerous social services agencies, (children’s agencies, scouting agencies, mental health agencies, nursing homes, sheltered workshops, hospitals, schools, and prisons). During this period of internship, the student works closely with their supervisors in carrying out their various duties. Students will share their progress via Seminar I and II. This opportunity benefits the students in gaining awareness of the field into which they are entering.
