The Social Services Specialist Degree prepares students for entry-level positions and/or for transfer into an advanced degree at a university. Employment of social services workers is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations. Employment positions should be favorable in facilities and programs that serve the elderly, mentally impaired, or developmentally disabled. State and local government agencies, hospitals, welfare agencies, crisis intervention and counseling agencies are also seeking social services workers. Students with a Social Services Specialist degree are prepared to help provide services through social services agencies to those in need within the community.
