OCC Zumba Classes Start Aug. 19 at WRC

Have fun while you’re exercising with Olney Central College’s Zumba class.

PEG 2122 Athletic Performance (Zumba®), will meet from 6 to 7:40 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at the West Richland Center in Noble. The eight-week class begins Aug. 19 and will be taught by licensed Zumba® instructor Casey Stallard.

Zumba is a Latin dance-inspired fitness class, with music from around the world including Salsa, Raggaeton, Cumbia, Hip-hop, Merengue and many more. Zumba routines incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — and resistance training.

Stallard said this aerobic exercise reduces health risks, keeps excess pounds at bay, strengthens your heart and boosts your mood.

Tuition for this course is reduced for residents of the Illinois Eastern Community Colleges District who are taking four semester hours or less in the IECC District. To register or for more information about the class, contact OCC Student Services at 618-395-7777.
