Aerial Lift Safety Course Offered Oct. 12 at WRC

Aerial Lift FlierOlney Central College and RWCI in Flora are partnering to provide a one-day aerial lift safety course at the West Richland Center in Noble.

The course includes classroom instruction and hands-on experience while addressing safety and procedural training as well as OSHA compliance for boom and scissor lifts. Participants will receive their OSHA lift certification certificates that day.

“The course will benefit manufacturers, construction firms and anyone who uses this type of equipment,” said RWCI General Manager Kevin Lewton. “It also provides OSHA required training for anyone that is going to be operating aerial lifts and is a great refresher for anyone that is having issues with a lift they are using.”

Through the course, participants will learn how to inspect the lifts and how to select the appropriate aerial platform to use. They also will learn how to conduct a job site awareness inspection looking for potholes, hazards and debris.

“Students also will get up in the machine with a harness and work with the instructor,” Lewton said.

The course will meet from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Oct. 12 in Room 103. For more information or to register, call 618-395-7777, as soon as possible.
