OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour Certification Classes Available

OSHA FlierOlney Central College is offering occupational safety classes to assist individuals in completing their OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour certification.

Instructor Ted Marshall said the Occupational Safety and Health Administration classes are designed for general industries including manufacturing, welding, retail and health care facilities.

Topics covered include an introduction to OSHA and its founding, walking and working surfaces, electrical, hazardous communications, emergency plans and personal protective equipment. Marshall also may tailor discussions to meet specific student needs.

The 10-Hour class will be offered from 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. on Tuesdays, Jan. 9-Feb. 27. A second class will be offered from 2 to 3:50 p.m. on Thursdays, March 15-May 10.

The 30-Hour class will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Jan. 8-May 7.

Tuition and fees for the courses are $230. Once they have finished the course, students can receive their certification cards for an additional $10. Marshall noted the card is good for a lifetime.
