System and Browser Configuration

Below are settings and requirements needed to access the Entrata portal and participate in web enhanced, hybrid, or online classes at IECC. Check that your computer and browser is operating at these specifications.

You may be able to use a computer lab at one of our four colleges. Please check with the college nearest you to verify availability.

Pop-Up Blocking Software
This browser feature or software may cause issues If you experience issues turn off this fetaure to see if it corrects the issue.

Microsoft Word / Office
Microsoft Word is the word processing software program recommended for online learning classes. Students should use this program when preparing documents to be emailed to instructors. Instructors on IECC campuses utilize this program and may not be able to open documents prepared in software programs such as Word Perfect.

Browser Cache
Sometimes you will need to clear the files out of your web browser, to do this:

Microsoft Internet Explorer
Click Tools and slide to/select Delete Browsing History.
Deselect Preserve Favorites website data and select Temporary Internet files, Cookies, and History.
Click Delete.

Firefox (PC)
At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options
Select the Advanced panel.
Click on the Network tab.
In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.
Click OK to close the Options window

Firefox (Mac)
On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu and select Preferences...
Select the Advanced panel.
Click on the Network tab.
In the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now.
Close the Preferences window

Safari (Mac)
Use the following keyboard shortcut to clear the browser's cache.

Click the Chrome menu (Three vertical LINES) on the browser toolbar upper right.
Select Tools.
Select Clear browsing data.
In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove.
Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Select beginning of time to delete everything.
Click Clear browsing data
