FCC Sponsoring Local Car Shows in September

Frontier Community College is sponsoring the annual Fall Fun Fest Car Show on Saturday, September 16, followed by the Wayne City Bean Days Car Show on Saturday, September 23.

The FCC Automotive Technology Club will again be sponsoring the Fairfield Fall Fun Fest Car Show on September 16. Car registration is available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with spectator judging taking place between 1 and 2 p.m.   Awards will be presented at 2 p.m. to the Top 30, as well as Best Car and Best Truck.

The entry fee is $10 and the public is invited to attend.  The event will be held in the LeMonds Chevrolet lot on the corner of Fourth and Delaware.

Formed in the 2009 fall semester, the Student Automotive Club is comprised of students enrolled in FCC’s Automotive Service Technology program.  It is a two-year degree program taught by ASE Master Certified Instructor Rodney Maxey, and involves lecture and hands-on training.  Upon completion, students are qualified to work as automotive technicians at dealerships or independent garages, to work in automotive specialty shops, or a parts-related business.  The degree will also transfer towards a 4-year bachelor’s program at universities.

Frontier Community College will be sponsoring the Wayne City Bean Days Car and Truck Show on September 23. Car registration is available from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. with spectator judging taking place between 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Awards will be presented at 1:30 p.m. to the Top 50, as well as Best of Show Car and Best of Show Truck.

The entry fee is $10 and the public is invited to attend. The event will be held in the front parking lot of the Wayne City School. Follow Route 15 to Market Street, then to Walnut Street and follow the signs.
