Dr. Linda Shidler has served as director of the Academic Support Center, formerly known as the Learning Skills Center, since 2015.
She has been an early childhood educator and an instructor at both the high school and college levels. During her career, Dr. Shidler has served on several national committees and been a presenter at international, national and regional education conferences. She is the author of numerous educational articles and served as an associate editor for the Academic Exchange Quarterly.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in home economics education with a teaching certificate and completed a master’s degree in human development from Eastern Illinois University. She earned a doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction at the University of South Florida.
Shidler has devoted much of her career to identifying effective classroom methods and exploring the impact teachers have on students. She has served as a consultant compiling, analyzing and organizing data; provided professional development and coaching for teachers, and developed school curriculum and assessment.
