Overview

Ignite your creativity and passion with Olney Central College's Cosmetology Program.

Learn the latest hair, nail, makeup and skin care trends while training for a fast-paced career in the ever-evolving beauty industry. Our program combines classroom instruction and hands-on experience to create well-rounded cosmetologists.

Instruction is provided by highly-skilled professionals who have worked extensively in the field. The three-semester program covers all facets of the industry including hair coloring, permanent waving, shampooing, scalp treatments, hair styling and chemical hair relaxing. Students also have access to modern facial, pedicure and manicure equipment enabling them to apply those skills.

OCC's Cosmetology Program also makes obtaining a cosmetology certificate affordable. Eligible students can receive financial aid to assist with tuition and other related expenses.

Salon Experience

OCC’s Cosmetology Program is located in the West Richland Center at 320 East North Avenue in Noble. The facility is specifically designed to give students the experience of working in a salon setting while learning day-to-day operations of the business, creating a career professional. Students work under the supervision of licensed cosmetology instructors.

State Licensing

OCC's Cosmetology Program is licensed by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Satisfactory progress in the program will more than meet the 1,500 hours required by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation before taking the state licensing exam. In order to accomplish this, students are enrolled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, when school is in session.

Completion of the program qualifies the student to take a state examination for registration as a licensed cosmetologist in the State of Illinois.
