MSHA ELECTRICAL RETRAINING
FOR MSHA-QUALIFIED MINE ELECTRICIANS
Illinois Eastern Community Colleges’ Workforce Education program has scheduled MSHA-approved electrical retraining classes for the following Saturdays at locations throughout Illinois’ mining regions. All currently qualified electricians are required to complete this training annually, before the end of the year, to keep their QUALIFICATIONS.
COST:
If you are an Illinois resident or if you work full-time in Illinois, the cost is: $30.00
If you are not an Illinois resident and do not work full-time in Illinois, the cost is: $114.00.
PAYMENT:
Please bring a check or money order payable to “ILLINOIS EASTERN COMMUNITY COLLEGES”
NOTE: If paying with cash, be certain to bring the exact amount. Payment will be collected at the start of each class.
REGISTER:
Telephone pre-registration is required. Admission will be on a first come/first serve basis. Class size is limited to thirty (30) by MSHA training plans. To reserve your slot, call the location where you wish to attend and give your name, telephone number, and the date(s) you prefer. Actual registration will be at the start of each session.
TIMES:
All classes begin at 8:00 a.m. with a limited 30 minutes for lunch (You may want to bring lunch and a Thermos; check for the availability of food and coffee when pre-registering).
DON’T LOSE YOUR MSHA ELECTRICAL QUALIFICATION!
IF LOST, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET BACK.
ATTEND ELECTRICAL RETRAINING THIS FALL.
ONE 8-HOUR CLASS WILL RENEW YOUR CARD THROUGH 2013.

Marissa-area training moved to Prairie State’s Training Center, one mile south of Illinois Route 15 on County Road 12. See links to maps & directions for all facilities on left.
MSHA has eliminated all Social Security Numbers. To get your card, you must have an MSHA Miner Individual Identification Number or MIIN. Please bring it with you to avoid delays. Your MIIN is printed on your electrical card. Also, you can call MSHA at (800) 579-2647 or retrieve a forgotten MIIN at the following link:
