Purpose

TRiO Upward Bound Program through Illinois Eastern Community Colleges is a federally funded college preparatory program designed to provide academic support, personal/career counseling and cultural enrichment to participants who have the academic ability for success beyond high school. The ultimate goal of theTRiO Upward Bound Program is to generate the precollegiate academic skills and motivation necessary for success in post secondary education. Services are provided to high school participants during an Academic Year Component, a Summer Year Component and a Summer Bridge Component.

Eligibility

Student must meet eligibility requirements detailed in the Admissions link.

Selection of the participants will be based on academic need and potential, motivation to successfully participate in TRiO Upward Bound, teacher recommendations. The TRiO Upward Bound Program does not discriminate on the basis or race, color, national origin, gender or disability. Application to the program does not guarantee admission, however, eligible students who are not selected due to space limitations will be placed on a waiting list.
