WVC Student Advantage Network Students Give Back
Last year the WVC Student Advantage Network created the Stand Up Against Bullying Club on campus. This year, they are working toward their community outreach. In the Mt. Carmel Christmas Parade, the group invited local school children to join them in the march. Several kids created posters of their own to stand up against bullying.
The Student Advantage Network has also collected items for WADI, cell phones for Cell Phones for Soldiers, and helped with the ConKerr Cancer activity.

SUMMER BRIDGE TO SUCCESS
The Student Advantage Network (SAN) students got off to a good start this year by participating in the Summer Bridge to Success program. The two day course offered students instruction in accessing their Entrata accounts, developing good budgeting practices, overcoming obstacles to attain success, and transfer opportunity information. In addition, they each were given the opportunity to take the Myers Briggs Assessment Inventory. The students found the inventory results to be a valuable tool in choosing their major. Eighteen second year students who had been chosen by their academic counselors to serve as the upcoming years mentors, assisted with the two day event. This allowed the new students to develop support systems with their mentors and their fellow SAN students.
