Here are some quotes from students around the district:
SAN has given me so many opportunities to give back to my community. I have met many new people and built lots of new relationships. I feel this program has shown me that I can not only achieve my goals but I can go above and beyond those goals in the future. - LTC, Cyndi Brock
SAN has help me a lot between helping me decide on my major, helping me decide on what classes I need, and on what college I want to transfer to. I have gotten so much more from the college because of the SAN program. I have gotten more involved in the club and the community. I am now not just a student and a mentor for the SAN program but I am now also the president of the SAN club on LTC campus. - LTC, Travis Watts
Trio has helped me through college. At first I was afraid, shy, and didnt know where to start. My SAN advisor taught me to be interdependent and achieve my goals by asking for help and getting a tutor to help me achieve grades that I know I am capable of getting. The SAN club helped me develop friendships with people who have the same goals as I do. Trio always kept me on course just like the books tittle that we learned from. If I was off course I was always encouraged to go back to the right path. Thanks to the TRIO program at Lincoln Trail College. - LTC, Nicohl Lopez
I am a non traditional student; I didnt know how the adjustment would turn out by having been out of the education loop for so long, I saw a brochure about the TRIO program and all the services that it offered. I decided that it was something worth looking into. After meeting with my SAN advisor to sign up, I quickly embraced my mentor and the tools that I needed to succeed in college, I believe TRIO has something for everyone to gain from and is an excellent program with tools that will help anyone reach whatever goals that you set for your education and life. - WVC, Darryl Ferrell
To be honest, I havent really enjoyed school. Its been very difficult for me to decide what I want to do or where my life is headed. However, SAN has helped me and been there for me when I have struggled, felt frustrated, and just felt like giving up. Everyone in SAN is supportive and encouraging and I know, no matter what, they are there for me. I am now happy to say that after 3 years I have finally started to figure things out. And hopefully I will be headed to a 4 year university in the Fall. SAN is there for me no matter what and I am very happy for that. - WVC, Raegan Sweppy
SAN helped me be more confident in myself and helped me be more outgoing. I am a first generation college student and my advisor helped me over come my fears and anxiety. She helped me realize what I wanted to major in. I am glad to say that after 3 years I have figured it all out and it wouldnt have happened without the help of SAN and I thank my advisor and past mentors. - WVC, Shaelynn King
SAN is a great program that helps students reach their academic goals and get them involved with their community and other campus SAN groups through campus visits, volunteer work, and fundraisers. - FCC, Ryan Merkle
The SAN program has helped me so much throughout my college career. It has helped me to open up and not be as shy. I have made new friends and had many new experiences. The cultural trips are always fun and we have great times. If I had any problems, the advisors were always helpful and could answer any questions I had. The SAN program is great and I encourage students who are interested to join the program because it will help them to be successful in college and in life. - FCC, Amy Poole
SAN has helped students at OCC so much with one-on-one tutoring, mentoring, and advising. Mentors helped students adjust to a new advisor mid-semester by encouraging both the students and the advisor to stick together and help each other with any situation they came across. - OCC, Danielle Spitzner and Patricia Pearce
