Single Parent / Displaced Homemaker Program

The IECC Single Parent Program is funded by Perkins IV, a federally funded program providing support services for special population students to assist them in gaining marketable skills. 

A participant in the Single Parent Program must be
  • single, divorced, separated, or widowed
  • have custody or joint custody of his/her minor child or children
  • be a displaced homemaker
  • be pursuing a career and technical education degree or certificate. 

Services provided include the following:

  • education and career exploration
  • workshops on personal growth, as well as job readiness
  • financial assistance to cover tuition, fees, transportation, books, and school supplies
  • other miscellaneous support services.

The Single Parent Program is located at Olney Central College on the second floor of Wattleworth Hall in Room 217A.

The Director of the Single Parent Program makes monthly visits to Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Lincoln Trail College in Robinson and Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel.
