There was a brief magical moment in the mid-’60’s when American youth migrated to California by the millions and transformed pop culture forever. Well-groomed folk musicians grew out their hair, plugged in Fenders and Rickenbackers, and the radio sizzled with the tight harmonies and dreamy lyrics that stitched Malibu, Greenwich Village and Haight-Ashbury together in an explosion of music that was danceable, singable and oh, so romantic. California Dreaming is a sun-kissed song and dance tribute to the pop music of a new generation. Songs like What a Day for a Daydream, I Get Around, Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind, Surfin’ USA, Dream a Little Dream of Me, Little GTO, Sloop John B and California Dreamin’ make this the sunniest, most nostalgic stage show in America! Groups like the Mamas and the Papas, the Beach Boys, the Lovin’ Spoonful and the Byrds led the way with songs that defined an era and introduced the world to the good vibrations of love, peace and summertime fun. This nationally-touring production is being produced and staged by Springer Theatricals from Columbus, Georgia.
