FCC's Community Art Show April 4
Frontier Community College is hosting the second annual Community Art Show on Friday, April 4, 2014, on Frontier’s campus in Classroom West. The College plans to roll out the new Bobcat mascot design and showcase the local talent.
Art Show categories are: Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Photography, Stained Glass, and Computer Generated.
There are two divisions: High School and Adult.
There are no entry fees and individuals can enter up to three items (can mix categories.)
Entries should be presentation ready (framed or matted and ready to hang) and dropped off at FCC’s Classroom Building West, Room 110, April 1 and 2 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., or at the LRC between 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. All pieces must include a completed entry form.
NOTE: A change to this year’s show is the computer-generated art must be in a physical format for judging and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org if it is to be included in the digital presentation.
PUBLIC INVITED TO VOTE FOR THEIR FAVORITES
The public is invited to browse through the Art Show on April 4 between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. and enjoy light refreshments.
The public is asked to vote for their favorite in each category and a Best of Show. Voting ends at 7:30 p.m.
Awards will be presented at 8 p.m.
ADULT Division: $100 Best of Show, $50 First Place (each category), Ribbons for Second & Third Place (each category)
HIGH SCHOOL Division: Best of Show: 3 Semester Hours Tuition/Summer Semester, Ribbons for First, Second, Third Place
HIGH SCHOOL VISIT 10 a.m.
Area high schools are invited to bring students to FCC’s campus at 10 a.m. to browse through the art and to learn more about the Graphic Arts and Design certificate program at Frontier Community College.
GRADE/JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS
Grade school & junior classes are invited to attend during the day for a walk through tour. Call for an appointment. 842-3711.
