For Terre Haute native Troy Jeffers, Lincoln Trail College served a jumping off point for a great career – literally.
After graduating from LTC in 2004, Jeffers took to the skies. He was accepted into the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., and Wings of Blue, the Air Force Academy parachute team.
Today, 2nd Lt. Jeffers serves as Information Technology Manager and Unit Fitness Program Manager for the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office based out of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
“In the two years I attended Lincoln Trail College, I developed my work ethic, my education and my character,” Jeffers said. “These developments are what served as my foundation, playing a vital role in my success at the United States Air Force Academy.”
Jeffers explained he firmly believes a place is defined by the people who are there and from LTC staff and faculty, he learned the importance of “honesty, selflessness and to always to his best on a day-to-day basis.”
“Lincoln Trail College helped mold me into the officer that I am today,” he said. “Without LTC, I would not have been prepared enough to succeed at the United States Air Force Academy through four long years of constant academic, military and athletic strains. Lincoln Trail College prepared me in all aspects to fulfill my desire to become an officer in the United States Armed Forces.”
