A collection of approximately 2500 books is housed in the Anderson Library at Olney Central College. The collection is owned by the Genealogy Society and is not cataloged. Use is limited to onsite visits during library hours of operation. Examples include:

  • Family History for families in this region
  • Census Indices through 1850 for most states east of the Mississippi River
  • New England books, including a complete collection of the Barbour Indexes from Connecticut
  • Mayflower recored
  • Complete collection of Hinshaw's Quaker Records
  • Complete collection of PERSI

The society has purchased all books that are available for a nine-county region of southeastern Illinois. (Clay, Crawford, Edwards, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence, Richland, Wabash & Wayne)
