Copyright Resources
It is important to review copyright guidelines periodically, especially Fair Use Guidelines as they apply to educators, in order to avoid copyright violations and to take advantage of new ways of delivering information to students that new technologies make possible.

The increased availability of online subscription services, use of courseware such as Web CT in distance learning, the need for materials for online courses, and the increasing number of digital projects have created a need for information sources to help us be aware of current practices and to help us use materials appropriately.

This web page is intended to bring together in one place the basic tools we need to consider in making informed decisions about using intellectual property created by others.

Copyright Comic Book Cover

BOUND BY LAW: TRAPPED IN A STRUGGLE SHE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND -http://www.law.duke.edu/cspd/comics/digital.php
This brilliant comic book from Duke Law School's Center for the Study of the Public Domain is a nifty story about how current copyright law makes it almost impossible for a documentary filmmaker to show a day in the life of New York City. It explains the history of copyright and fair use.
