The International Police Association Region 57 Scholarship recipient for the 2016-17 academic year is Aaron Brown, a sophomore at Wabash Valley College.
Ashly Stillwell has the honor of being the recipient of the Billie and Emil Tyler Trust Scholarship which was recently awarded at Wabash Valley College. Ashly, of Princeton, IN, is a graduate of Glenbard West High School. She is married to Andrew Stillwell. Ashly is a member of the Student Nurses Association. After completing her degree at WVC, her future career goal is to attain a BSN degree online.
The Hayes Family Memorial Scholarship for 2016-2017 has been awarded to Presley Ice. Presley, a graduate of Lawrenceville High School, is the daughter of Chad and Julie Ice of Lawrenceville, IL.
Wabash Valley College is pleased to announce Brooke Pearson as the recipient of the 2016-2017 Victor S. Tanquary, Jr. Nursing Scholarship.
Brooke Pearson is the daughter of Amy Clodfelter and Mark Clodfelter, and is a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School. Brooke is a member of the Health Professionals Club and the Student Nurses Association. She has been named to the CEO’s Honors List. After she completes her nursing degree at WVC, she plans to transfer to Purdue University as an online student to attain her BSN degree. Her future career goal is to become an RN.
Morgan Powers has been selected as the recipient of the 2016-2017 Mary Virginia Deputy Cunningham Scholarship awarded at Wabash Valley College.
Morgan Powers, a graduate of Wood Memorial High School in Oakland City, IN. is the daughter of Tracy Powers and Terry Powers of Oakland City. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Health Professions Club, and Student Nurses Association. Morgan has been named to the CEO’s Honors List. She is the recipient of the Trilogy Scholarship and the Bertha Carrell Scholarship, as well as the Mary Virginia Deputy Cunningham Scholarship. Her future career goal is to earn her Associate Degree and R.N. from WVC and then pursue a BSN degree, and work at Deaconess Gateway.
If you were on the Wabash Valley College campus any time from 2009-2011, you would have seen and heard the name of Clay Walker! As a student at WVC, Clay excelled in the classroom and demonstrated his leadership talents as a most involved student.
In commenting on his Wabash Valley College experience, Clay Walker, Physician’s Assistant-Wabash General Hospital (Primary Care), is quick to say that he was very blessed to have spent his first two years of college at a wonderful college that was close to home. And now, Wabash County residents and Wabash Valley College are quick to say that they are blessed to have Clay Walker back in Mt. Carmel and are blessed to sing the praises of another “Successful WVC Graduate!”
The Robert and Norma Bethards Scholarship was awarded to Autumn Hudson for the 2016-2017 academic year. This scholarship is in honor of Robert and Norma Bethards, who have supported the WVC Foundation, as well as other educational fundraising efforts, for over 30 years.
Sara Bump has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Illinois Community College System Health Trust Scholarship in the amount of $800 per semester. Sara Bump, the wife of Casey Bump and the daughter of John and Lisa Collins, lives in Petersburg, IN and is a graduate of Pike Central High School.
On Saturday, March 25, the IECC TRIO Student Support Services program met at Wabash Valley College for the last workshop of the year, the “Essential Skills” workshop.
The B. W. and Bertha Carrell Scholarship has been awarded to five students at Wabash Valley College for the 2016-2017 academic year. The recipients are: Carlee Thomason, Autumn Hudson, Kenlee Bramlet, Morgan Powers, and J’nee Opell.
Carlee Elise Thomason has the honor of being selected as the first recipient of the Chester D. and Lizzie Mae Daniels Scholarship at Wabash Valley College.
