Statesmen lose GRAC road contest to Olney Central Wednesday, 87-75

Riding a two-game winning streak for the first time in nearly three months, Lincoln Trail College's men's basketball team was unable to make it three in a row Wednesday.
The Statesmen saw their two-game win streak snapped on the road at Olney Central College, following an 87-75 loss in Great Rivers Athletic Conference play.
Lincoln Trail fell behind 37-27 at halftime, then were outscored 50-48 in the second half, which prevented the Statesmen from earning consecutive wins in GRAC play this season.
Free throw shooting proved costly for the Statesmen, as they made just 16-24 foul shots (67 percent), while Olney Central was 26-32 at the charity stripe (81 percent).
Teddy Maris led LTC with 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and one blocked shot, while Jason Jordan posted 15 points, 11 rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot. Delvon Brown netted 10 points and three rebounds, Ilyas Salsanov contributed nine points and five rebounds, Mike Anderson totaled six points, four rebounds and two assists, Rob Reed recorded five points, seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and one blocked shot, Jake Frazier chipped in with five points and two rebounds, Isaac Wodajo tossed in three points and JoJo Hart scored two points.
Four players reached double figures for Olney Central College, led by Trivante Bloodman with 23 points, including 15 in the second half. Latroi Wright tossed in 13 points, Noah Stewart netted 12 and John Michael Jarvis added 10 for the Blue Knights.
Lincoln Trail (9-18, 3-12 GRAC) will close out the season when they play host to Lake Land College for Sophomore Night Saturday at 4 p.m.
