Lincoln Trail College's men's basketball team seems to be playing some of its best basketball of late.

The Statesmen picked up their second straight win and third in its last four games, after picking up a 73-62 win at Danville Area College in non-conference action Monday.

The game was a make-up from a contest that was postponed in late December.

Another big second half propelled the Statesmen to their latest win.

The Statesmen trailed 31-27 at halftime, but outscored Danville Area 46-31 over the final 20 minutes to get the win.

Lincoln Trail shot the ball extremely well in the game, making 29-49 field goal attempts (59 percent), which included a 25-37 performance from two-point range (68 percent) and a 4-12 effort from three-point range (33 percent).

On the other hand, Danville Area made just 24-60 shots from the floor (40 percent), including 21-43 from inside the arc (49 percent) and 3-17 from long distance (18 percent).

The Statesmen were 11-16 at the free throw line (69 percent), but were 9-11 in the second half. Meanwhile, Danville Area made just 11-19 foul shots (58 percent), including just 7-14 after halftime.

Jason Jordan continues to lead the charge for LTC, totaling 25 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Rob Reed posted 16 points, three rebounds and one assist. Mike Anderson contributed nine points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals, Teddy Maris netted nine points, three rebounds, three steals and one assist, Jake Frazier tossed in eight points and Ilyas Salsanov, Angelo Williams and Errol Townsend added two points and one rebound apiece.

Danville Area was led by Brandon Demmings with 16 points, six rebounds and one assist, while Shea Sumpter posted 14 points, seven rebounds and one steal and Evan Blackmon netted 13 points, three rebounds, one assist and one steal.

With the win, Lincoln Trail has now won back-to-back games for the first time since Dec. 2-3, when they defeated Danville Area 95-90 and Aim High Prep 105-67 at the Olney Rotary Classic.

Lincoln Trail (9-17) will look to extend their winning streak to three games for the first time this season and win back-to-back Great Rivers Athletic Conference games for the first time this season when they play at Olney Central College for a GRAC contest Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
