Another long losing streak has come to an end for Lincoln Trail College's women's basketball team.
Lincoln Trail halted a seven-game losing streak Saturday by pounding visiting Rend Lake College, 88-72, in Great Rivers Athletic Conference play.
The win was also the second this season over Rend Lake for the Lady Statesmen, who also won the first meeting of the season between the two teams, 79-76, in Ina on Jan. 11.
The Lady Statesemen poured in 45 points in the first half to take a 45-39 lead at halftime, then outscored Rend Lake 43-33 in the second half to pull away for the win.

Lincoln Trail also took advantage at the free throw line, making 27-33 foul shots (82 percent), while Rend Lake was 22-36 at the charity stripe (61 percent).
