Statesmen fall at Southwestern Illinois, 85-66, for 5th straight loss

A three-point barrage by the home team was too much for Lincoln Trail College's men's basketball team to overcome Saturday.
The Statesmen allowed host Southwestern Illinois College to make 12 three-point baskets, resulting in an 85-66 loss in Great Rivers Athletic Conference play.
Lincoln Trail was within striking distance at halftime, trailing 39-29, but Southwestern Illinois outscored the Statesmen 46-37 in the second half to pull away for the win.
The loss was the third straight in league play for LTC and the fifth overall.
Leading the way for Lincoln Trail was Teddy Maris with 20 points, including four three-pointers, while Mike Anderson was also in double figures with 12 points. Isaac Wodajo tossed in eight points, Jason Jordan netted seven points, Jacob Frazier scored six, Delvon Brown and Errol Townsend added four points apiece, JoJo Hart had three and Ilyas Salsanov had two.
Dylan Chatman led four players in double figures for SWIC with 20 points, including six three-point baskets. Tony Bradley netted 12 points, David Wiegmann tossed in 11 and Jordan Coleman scored 10.
Lincoln Trail (4-9, 0-3 GRAC) will try to snap their skid when they play at Kaskaskia College Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
