Statesmen lose at Lewis & Clark, 76-63

Scoring half as many points in the second half as you did in the first is not a good formula for success, especially when your opponent more than doubles their first-half output after halftime.
That scenario happened to Lincoln Trail College's men's basketball team Saturday afternoon, as the Statesmen dropped a road contest at Lewis & Clark Community College, 76-63.
Lincoln Trail played well over the first 20 minutes and built a 42-34 lead at halftime. However, the Statesmen managed just 21 points over the next 20 minutes, while Lewis & Clark poured in 42 second-half points to rally for the win.
The game was the first for the Statesmen under interim head coach Mike Ray, who has taken over following the suspension of head coach Kevin Emerick.
Mike Anderson paced LTC with 19 points, nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and one blocked shot, while Jason Jordan posted 11 points, five rebounds, two blocked shots and one steal. Teddy Maris netted 11 points, two rebounds and one assist, Rob Reed totaled five points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one blocked shot, Isaac Wodajo contributed five points, three assists and one rebound, Delvon Brown registered four points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist, Ilyas Salsanov collected three points and three rebounds, Jacob Frazier added three points, two rebounds and one blocked shot and Drew Morecraft had two points, one rebound and one blocked shot.
Five players reached double figures for Lewis & Clark, led by Aqui Shareef with 21 points. Marlon Sykes tossed in 13 points, Davi Austin and Domonique Walls netted 12 apiece and Dusan Sparavalo added 10.
