Instructions for using the online catalog -- iPAC

Click on iPAC on the library web page.  Use the arrows in the top toolbar to navigate.

 

Search for a book by Author

Type: last name, first name into the Author Search bar.

         EX. Grisham, John

Click on the Search bar or hit Enter.

Double Click on the author’s name that is highlighted.

                     Ex. Grisham, John

 

Double Click on the book you want to see details such as location, status,

                     call number, and collection. 

                     EX.  The Client

(If FCC does not have the book, follow the Hold instructions at the bottom of the page to retrieve a book through Interlibrary loan.)

 

Click on the New Search button, right side of the screen, to do another search.

 

Search for a book by Title

Type  the title into the Title Search bar.

          EX. People on Our Side

 

Click on the Search button or hit Enter.

Double Click on the title to see locations, status, call number, and collection.

 

(If FCC does not have the book, follow the interlibrary loan instructions at the bottom of this page.)

 

Click on the New Search button, right side of the screen, to do another search.

 

Search for a Book by Subject

Type the word jazz into the SubjectKeywords search bar.

Click on Search or hit Enter. You receive a list of jazz related subjects.

 

Double Click on the subject heading Jazz Musicians. 

 

Click on the book called The Jazz Tradition by Martin T. Williams.  The top window shows you details about the book, including links to additional subjects: 1) Jazz  (Click on it to see other subject headings)  and  2) Jazz Musicians (Click on it to go back to the original list.)

 

Click on the New Search button, right side of the screen, to do another search.

 

Search for a Book by Title Keywords

Type the words celebrating Duke into the Title Keyword search bar.

Click on the Search button or hit Enter.

Find  the book called Celebrating the duke, and Louis, Bessie, billie, bird, Carman, Miles, Dizzy; and Other Heroes by Ralph J. Gleason.

 

Click on the New Search button, right side of the screen, to do another search.

  

 

 Requesting an Item from Another Library: Interlibrary Loan

When you find a book, videotape or other item you need or want on iPAC, you may click on the Request Item button and your item will be sent to you at OCC free of charge. Click on iPAC and follow these steps:
Search for the book or item you want by author, title, subject, or Title Keyword.
Select the title by clicking on it once.
Click on the Request Item button on the right side of the screen.
Enter your library card number in the Barcode Number box.
Click on the Login button.
Be sure that the drop down menu says Frontier Community College in the select a location to pick up material section.
Click on the blue Request button at the bottom of the screen. Your request will be filled as soon as the item is available.
