IECC also offers GED test preparation classes at no charge, however the GED test itself has a $25 application fee. The fee is for taking the test and issuance of the diploma upon successful completion of the GED tests and Constitution exam.

Each GED test, with the exception of the Writing Skills Test, also requires a $5 retest fee. A $10 retest fee is required for the writing skills test. You must contact the Regional Office of Education to apply for testing and payment of fees.

An applicant who fails to make the required scores on the GED tests has the option of retesting on the subject /subjects not passed. An applicant may retake the test (or portions of the test) three times in a contract year (from June to May). Applicants will pay the above mentioned fees for every test which is retaken. Applicants who fail the Constitution exam will be permitted to review the subject matter and be retested at no cost.
